"IS it still a BDL?"
Yep, still a big dirt lot.... but that doesn't mean things aren't happening! (Oh - sorry about the quality of the picture - this is the house layout on the lot and the copy I have is pretty fuzzy).A week or two ago we had a meeting with first Trish at the model homes and then the pool people. What fun! We added a few cabinets in the laundry room and discussed lighting. Since our house pad will be over 5000sq feet, Maracay will be putting in a fire suppression system for us (at no additional charge, though Trish assures me I am paying for it.) We got the skinny on painting (1 color or 2 for an additional cost) and upgraded interior doors and molding. Most of this, Eric and I figure we can change easy enough once we are in the house so we let it stand at builder's basic. We will probably paint the kids rooms immediately and leave everything else for after we have recovered.
With Blue Wave pools, our lovely designer, Julie, helped us with figuring out what we wanted - and apparently that is a really big pool. In the end, we tentatively decided on a 97ft perimeter pool, salt cleaning system and in-floor vacuum. We nixed the spa (sigh) to get the kids a rock slide/waterfall/grotto (which they DON'T know about... so shhhhh!). It will max out at 5ft deep and have an over-sized step to sit on as well as a bench. I also asked for a few extra umbrella holes so I can sit in the sun and watch the kids float around. Now I am investigating the possibility of a solar panel heater for the pool to make it useful all-year around. It would be cheaper than the spa (the gas line runs are the killer since the lot is long). Thankfully the Home and Garden Show is this weekend so we hope to go and find new and cool stuff there.
