Now about the OTHER house...
We are indeed on MLS as of this morning! It has been a workhorse week. The kids were on Spring Break and Eric was off and we worked our butts off. Massive furniture arranging, decluttering, packing, cleaning and the like. The house looks great. We had it painted inside and out (I'll post an outside picture soon). We ordered a new carpet for the downstairs living room to be installed today. We got the doors approved by the HOA (though we have to paint the security screen). The yard has been watered and is green. The weeds have been killed.... and so on... and so on.... and so on! Our MLS number is 2735329..... tell all your friends!

No pics, but news galore!
Howdy Friends!
So there is a little bit of news here..... First, we are going to try selling our house. In this market, it is always good to qualify with 'trying'. We spent my birthday week out of the house having the interior painted and today the painters are here to do the outside. Already the place looks a million times bigger! I am amazed. In any event, if we don't sell before we move, we will put the place up for sale or rent. I will post the virtual tour link and MLS listing here when they are finalized..... tell all your friends! Second, we did our electrical walk through with Richard (the building supervisor at Ashler Hills). I think we might have taxed him a bit. Some of the issues were ours (we placed the extra fridge outlet in an illogical place and had an issue with a cable outlet no where near the electrical outlet), and some were theres (missing TV outlet and hose bib). But in the end, everything will get resolved. Apparently, our new house passed the framing and electrical inspection and the sprinkler inspection and is ready for drywall - which will occur this or next week. We were given a tentative timeline of... .wait for it...... JUNE! Early or late, we don't know. And of course things could change as the weather and contractors evolve. Our first neighbor will be in their house in May so we are not too far behind. Once the drywall and/or stucco are placed, I will post again! Have a great Spring Break!
To Please Jamie......
I will let you ALL know the nitty-gritty. Nothing new has happened. Really. Nothing. We are waiting on the sprinkler system to be installed and then, we are told, we will get to do our electrical walk-through. That SHOULD mark the approximately 90 day mark until close, though who actually knows. The rest of the community is coming along nicely. They opened several other lots and most sold very quickly. The other homes being built are mostly caught up to where we are - in need of stucco and drywall but electrical and plumbing installed. We are going through the re-permiting to get the backyard approved - the hiccup that has held us up thus far. Knowing that Maracay is making an effort to get that resolved pleases me, though I do realize that some of their motivation is due to the fact that they have only received a sliver of the total cash we will eventually be coughing up for the house. They REALLY want me to buy this house. And I REALLY want to buy it - so it pays to have us all happy.
In the meantime, Eric spent a whole week convincing me to sell My House (as we call our current abode... that differing from His House that we are building). Essentially I consented to trying to sell it (and doing all that comes with that) and if it doesn't go before we move, we will attempt to sell or rent - whichever happens first. So next week we will have the interior painted and we have been moving out stuff to storage. We are pleasantly pleased to see that bulk garbage is just around the corner (LOVE Bulk Garbage!). With luck, we will get lots of hard work done soon and actually get to take a vacation during Spring Break week.
There - that is ALL the news that is left to fit. Sorry there are no new pictures - the house looks just like before...... take a gander if you forgot what it looks like :)
